This past Sunday, June 23 was a monumental day for the Adereth El community. A Sefer Torah was dedicated to the Synagogue for the first time in more than 25 years. Our heartfelt thanks to Uri Zilkha for this beautiful gift. The event began with the completion of the writing of the Torah. Rabbi Gideon Shloush then addressed the community and Uri Zilkha shared personal thoughts as well. The Torah, which was written in Israel, was then danced out of the Sanctuary under a beautiful Chupah. Arrangements were made for 29th Street to be closed to traffic to enable music, band and lengthy dancing to take place outside on the street. Many thanks to Rabbi Golan Benlulu who served as the scribe to complete the Torah and to Yair Chamra for his magnificent vocals. A sumptuous meal was served.
