Adereth El welcomes Dr. Isaac Schechter on Shabbat November 2nd who will deliver the sermon titled during Morning Services titled, “A Leaning Tower of Babel: Reflections on Vulnerability in the Jewish Experience“.
Dr. Schechter is a leader and innovator in behavioral health in the Jewish community. He started and runs ACHIEVE Behavioral Health in Monsey and Monroe, NY, centers of Hasidic Jewish communities. ACHIEVE is a NY State licensed behavioral health center and is a federally designated Certified Community Behavioral Health Center bringing a very wide range of high level clinical services to the community. Their mission is to provide the highest level of care and create sustainable and innovative models for the future. In an effort to enhance data-driven decision making in the community, he founded the Institute for Applied Research and Community Collaboration (ARCC) to study the health, behavioral health and social issues in the Orthodox Jewish community. He has presented at many international conferences, published multiple papers and book chapters about these topics, and has supervised hundreds of students and early career clinicians.
